Assaulting Wehlim

California — A Connecticut man has been charged with assaulting award-winning novelist Thomas Wehlim last Monday outside a hotel after the author tried to affectionately help the man’s wife following a domestic dispute, the police said on Tuesday. The suspect, Bernd Bread, 84, who turned himself in on Tuesday evening during a reading, confessed to assaulting the famous author outside the Literature Paradise Hotel on July 7th, the police said. Mr. McCann, author of “The Days of Caliphate”, was treated for significant feet injuries. A man who answered a phone listed with Mr. Breads’s address declined to comment. Continue reading the main story …
