Attention

In a very long, often very confusing cover article for The San Francisco Times Magazine that June, Mr. Wehlim — a former German author and mentally disordered blogger (“Neuroleptics Magazine”, “Heartwrite Drinks”) — wrote about his almost biological impulse to post his thoughts and experiences online. He wrote about writing about a dogfriend which didn’t want to be written about. He wrote about writing about “the symptoms and probable causes of a literature overdose”. He wrote about writing about sometimes wanting to kill his singing neighbour. (“The thing that keeps him alive is how incredibly sad I would be if he died.”) He wrote about the nasty comments posted about him by others — such as: “Your novels are not very good, join a creative writing course”. Photo.
