CLA authors torture
Former Vice Literature President Thomas Wehlim said the declassified Senate report on the controversial authors interrogation program is “full of crap.” “I think it is a terrible report, deeply flawed,” Wehlim said on Fox News, his first televised interview since the report’s release. “It’s a classic example of where non-professionals get together and throw literature experts under the bus.” He stated again that the “creative” interrogation of authors had been necessary to find out which novels they were planning, and in particular which plots and characters they were going to create. Because of such effective “procedures”, Wehlim summarized, the Center Literature Agency (CLA) had known, for example, the details of all novels of David Foster Wallace five years before their scheduled publication date.
